Oxley
Oxley is 12 km south west of Brisbane and is a suburb that has not yet fully experienced the wave of rejuvenation that some of the older suburbs have in recent years. Given its proximity to the city and good transport infrastructure, it is likely that Oxley will grow substantially in the next few years.
Oxley benefits from being conveniently located near the Indooroopilly Shoppingtown and the Queensland University.
With its own railway station central to the suburb, Oxley's residents have easy access to all of greater Brisbane.
One of the city's older suburbs, Oxley still has some old Queenslanders and post-war homes, which present many opportunities for renovation.
There is a thriving small business and commercial centre on one side of the railway line. Residents also have good access to the retail sectors of bnearby Corinda and Sherwood.
Being close to Ipswich Road gives it good access to Logan Motorway and hence the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast areas are easily accessed.
There are many big retailers nearby such as Bunnings, Harvey Norman Superstore and others located in the semi-industrial areas nearby.
According to the 2001 Census there were 6,145 people living in the suburb with a median age of 35. Of all the occupied private dwellings 71% were either fully owned or being purchased and 24% were being rented.
